Main Story Line Last updated: 9/7/2026

Main Story Line ("MSL", "we", "us", "our") is an AD4HD coaching practice operated by Brenden Carretero (ABN 96533929754) in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information, and how you can access or correct it or make a complaint. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Because our coaching relates to ADHD, some of the information you share with us may be health information, which is treated as sensitive information under the Privacy Act. We apply the higher standard of care that sensitive information requires, regardless of whether the Act strictly obliges us to.

This Policy applies to information we collect:

* through our website at mainstoryline.com (the "Site");

* when you book or attend a coaching session, including the Prologue intro session;

* when you join our community spaces, including the Arch-iv Discord server;

* when you contact us by email, form, or messaging; and

* when you subscribe to our newsletter or other communications.

1. What we collect

Information you give us directly. This may include:

* your name, email address, and phone number when you book a session, subscribe, or contact us;

* information you provide in intake forms or pre-session questionnaires, which may include information about your ADHD diagnosis, symptoms, medication, mental health history, work, relationships, and goals;

* information you share verbally during coaching sessions;

* payment details when you purchase a session or package (handled by our payment processor — see section 4);

* messages, posts and other content you share in our community spaces.

You are never required to share health information to use our Site or subscribe to our content. Health information is only collected in the context of coaching, and only with your consent.

Information collected automatically. Our Site uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service that does not use cookies and does not collect or store personal information. We see aggregate data only, such as page views, referral sources, and country-level location. We cannot identify you from this data, and we do not use advertising trackers, tracking cookies, or cross-site tracking on our Site.

Third-party services we use (such as our booking and payment providers) may use their own cookies when you interact with them. Their privacy policies are linked in section 4.

2. Session notes and recordings

Coaching sessions may be recorded and transcribed only with your prior consent, obtained before the session. You can decline recording, or withdraw consent at any time, without affecting your access to coaching.

Where sessions are recorded, transcription is performed locally on our own equipment in Australia. Audio and transcripts are not uploaded to third-party transcription or AI services. Recordings and transcripts are stored securely, used solely to support your coaching (session preparation, continuity, and progress tracking), and are not shared with anyone else without your consent.

Session notes (whether or not a session is recorded) are treated as health information and handled with the same care.

3. Why we collect, use and hold your information

We collect, use and hold your personal information to:

* provide coaching services to you, including preparing for and following up on sessions;

* process bookings, payments and refunds;

* communicate with you about your sessions, our services, and scheduling;

* send you newsletters and content you have subscribed to (you can unsubscribe at any time);

* operate and moderate our community spaces;

* improve our services and Site;

* comply with our legal obligations; and

* establish, exercise or defend legal claims if the need arises.

We use health information only for the purpose of providing coaching to you, or for a directly related purpose you would reasonably expect, or otherwise with your consent or as required or authorised by law.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your personal information for third-party advertising. We do not use the content of your sessions, notes, or recordings to train AI models.

4. Who we share your information with

We share personal information only as needed to run the practice, with service providers who help us operate:

* Booking and scheduling: Cal.com — https://cal.com/privacy

* Payments: Stripe — https://stripe.com/privacy

* Community: Discord — https://discord.com/privacy

* Website hosting: Framer — https://www.framer.com/legal/privacy-statement/

Payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor. We do not receive or store your full card details.

We may also disclose personal information:

* where you have consented to the disclosure;

* where required or authorised by law, including in response to a court order or lawful request by a government agency;

* where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to lessen or prevent a serious threat to the life, health or safety of any individual; or

* to our professional advisers (such as lawyers, accountants or insurers) where reasonably necessary, under obligations of confidence.

If MSL's business structure changes (for example, transitioning to a company structure, or a sale of the business), personal information may be transferred to the new entity on the condition that it continues to be handled in accordance with this Policy and the Privacy Act.

Anything you post in public or shared community spaces (such as Discord channels) is visible to other members. Please share only what you are comfortable with others seeing.

5. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers listed above store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the APPs, including by using providers with appropriate privacy and security commitments.

Session recordings, transcripts and coaching notes are stored in Australia and are not disclosed overseas.

6. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include encrypted storage, access limited to Brenden Carretero, local (on-device) processing of session recordings, and use of reputable service providers.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

7. Retention and deletion

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by law (for example, financial records must be kept for at least five years under Australian tax law).

Coaching notes and recordings are retained for 24 months after your last session, then securely deleted, unless you ask us to delete them earlier or we are required to retain them longer by law. You can request deletion of your recordings and transcripts at any time.

8. Access, correction and your choices

You may:

* request access to the personal information we hold about you;

* request correction of information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or misleading;

* withdraw consent to session recording at any time;

* unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the link in each email or by contacting us; and

* request deletion of your personal information, which we will action unless we are required to retain it by law.

We will respond to access and correction requests within a reasonable period (usually within 30 days) and will not charge you for making a request. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing and how you can complain.

9. Anonymity

Where lawful and practicable, you may interact with us anonymously or using a pseudonym — for example, when browsing the Site or asking general questions. Coaching services require us to know who you are.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version will always be published on the Site with its "Last updated" date. If we make material changes to how we handle your personal information, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as by email or a notice on the Site.

11. Complaints and contact

If you have a question, request, or complaint about how we have handled your personal information, contact:

Brenden Carretero Main Story Line Email: Brenden.carretero@mainstoryline.com

We will acknowledge your complaint within 7 days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
